Ursula Kern was born in Basel, Switzerland in 1942. From 1961-65 she taught freehand drawing painting and textile design. From 1969 - 2001 Ursula worked as a professor for the School of Design in Basel, teaching color and freehand drawing. Since 1975 she has been creating personal patchwork (unquilted quilts), participating in exhibitions in Switzerland, Europe, the USA and Canada. She teaches classes and workshops for quilters with special focus on color and design.
Ursula had planned to retire from teaching in the U.S. after 2016, but made a special exception to come to Madeline Island School of the Arts. firstname.lastname@example.org
