Sewing Machine required if piecing background (MISA offers weekly machine rentals.  Please contact the registrar for details).

6" X 12" ruler, matt and rotary cutter

Freezer paper, pencil and paper scissors

#10 and 11 Straw needles for beading and cotton Applique

#24 Chenille needle for wool Applique

#18 Chenille needle for couching

#3 and #1 Milliners needle for wrapped stitches

60 wt. cotton thread and 50/50 wool thread for wool Applique

Thread Heaven

Clover Applique pins

Bohin pencil glue stick

Rotary cutter and ruler

Embroidery and Fabric scissors

Journal and pen for note taking

Circle template

1" x 6" ruler


Fat 1/4 hand dyed wool in a color of your choice 16" x 25" or an assortment of Fat 1/16 and Fat 1/8ths for pieced background. 

Note* - If you are planning on making your quilt larger than Sue's finished piece you may need to adjust the amount of wool needed for background.


Fat 1/4 hand dyed wool for the road/pathway.  Road is cut as one piece for this project.

Additional pieces of hand dyed wool in a variety of colors for Applique designs.

Assorted small pieces of textural fabrics including hand dyed silk velvet, silk and linen.

1/4 yard Presto Sheer for stabilizing velvet


Bring an assortment of colorful embellishment threads in different types and weights - such as - hand dyed Perle Cottons, Chenille yarns, Seagrass, Silken Pearl, Dazzle, Razzle & #24 wt. Silk Thread and #11 Seed Beads for beading.
